THE GREAT COMMISSION

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Pastor Scott and Jessica Salas

Pastor Scott Salas, called at the 2024 San Antonio October Bible Conference, went to Jakarta, Indonesia, with his wife Jessica and their three daughters to pioneer a work for God, having previously built a church in Austin, Texas. Once a broken, addicted, and depressed 26-year-old, Scott found peace, purpose, and joy after surrendering to Jesus, a decision he considers the best he’s ever made. Now 35, he finds serving Jesus deeply fulfilling and wouldn’t trade his salvation for anything.

Jessica grew from a childhood marked by divorce, abuse, and neglect, believing she was unlovable, seeking acceptance through unhealthy relationships, drugs, and alcohol, which led to an abusive relationship that persisted even after pregnancy. Feeling trapped and hopeless, she attended The Door church, where a sermon revealed a peace she’d never known, prompting her to surrender her life to Jesus. She committed to breaking the cycle for her daughter, stayed single for eight years, and married Scott, a godly man who answered her prayers. Through faith, Jesus transformed her brokenness into a life of hope and love.
